Nigerian Army don distance itself from one fake recruitment advert wey dey circulate for social media and online platforms, wey dey invite people to apply for Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027.
For statement wey Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, release on Monday, the Army talk say the advert no come from them and na fraudsters dey use am deceive innocent Nigerians.
βThe advert na fake, fraudulent and e no come from the Nigerian Army,β the statement talk.
The Army warn members of the public make dem ignore the advert and no make any payment to anybody or any website wey claim say dem dey recruit on behalf of the military.
According to the Army, all recruitment and commissioning exercises dey completely free, transparent and based on merit.
Dem explain say official recruitment announcements dey only come through national newspapers, verified Nigerian Army social media pages and other recognised official communication channels.
βNo form dey for sale and no agent get authority to collect money or help anybody secure recruitment slot,β the Army stress.
The military also warn people wey dey behind the fake recruitment advert to stop immediately.
According to the statement, security agencies don already begin work to track, arrest and prosecute anybody wey dey produce, share or use the fake advert to scam Nigerians.
The Army vow say anybody wey dem catch for the fraud go face the full weight of the law.
Dem also advise Nigerians to always verify recruitment information through official Army channels and quickly report any suspicious recruitment activity to the nearest military formation or security agency.
