Kidnappers Run Leave Victims As Security Men Storm Forest For Kogi

Lokoja – Kogi State Government don announce say dem successfully rescue the four people wey kidnappers carry away during attack on one illegal examination centre for Olowa community, Dekina Local Government Area.

Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, reveal the development for statement wey dem release on Thursday.

According to am, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo quickly order massive rescue operation immediately after the kidnapping incident happen.

Fanwo talk say the governor direct the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), make e coordinate joint operation involving the Nigerian Army, DSS, Police, local vigilantes and other security agencies.

The security teams reportedly enter the forest in search of the victims as pressure mount on the kidnappers.

Fanwo explain say while Governor Ododo dey inspect new Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) wey Kogi State Government buy to strengthen security operations, e assure residents say government dey do everything possible to rescue the victims.

A few hours later, the victims regain their freedom.

According to the commissioner, the heavy presence of armed security personnel and continuous pressure force the kidnappers to abandon the victims and run away from the forest.

β€œThe criminals no fit withstand the pressure from security operatives. Dem abandon the victims and escape,” Fanwo talk.

He confirm say the rescued victims include the school principal, one NECO official and two students, and say all of them dey safe and healthy.

The victims currently dey with security agencies for questioning and medical examination.

Fanwo add say security operatives still dey comb the forest as the operation continue, with authorities determined to arrest all the criminals involved.

He warn say anybody wey choose crime for Kogi State go face the full force of the law.

The commissioner praise officers and men of the Nigerian Army, DSS, Police, vigilante groups and other security agencies for their bravery and quick response.

He also thank President Bola Tinubu for supporting Kogi State security efforts, saying the President direct security chiefs to provide all necessary assistance to ensure the victims return safely.

Fanwo assure residents say Governor Ododo administration go continue to invest in intelligence gathering, security equipment and cooperation among security agencies to keep Kogi safe from criminals.
