President Bola Tinubu don approve the appointment of 26 people into different Federal Government agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, emerging as the new Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The announcement come through statement wey President Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, release on Monday.
According to the statement, Fayose go lead the REA board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta, wey dem appoint as members and non-executive directors.
The REA board still get the agency Director-General, Abba Aliyu, plus three executive directors wey government appoint before.
For another appointment, President Tinubu name Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salary and Wages Commission.
Former lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas become Secretary of the commission, while Ogbole Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Barde go represent Benue, Oyo and Kaduna States as commissioners.
Other members of the commission include Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Tor (Enugu), Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Iyabode (Kogi).
The Presidency also announce the redeployment of Tosin Adeyanju, wey dem previously appoint as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF).
Adeyanju don now move to the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission as Secretary.
Tinubu also make fresh appointments for several key government agencies.
Among them, Abuh Mohammed become the new Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), while Akinola Odeyemi emerge as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET).
The President also appoint Anthony Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
For the agriculture sector, former local government chairman Julius Oloro become the new CEO of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) for Kwara State, replacing A.R. Kamal, wey die earlier this year.
Tinubu also set up a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Abdullahi Saidu as Chairman.
Other members of the board include Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola.
For the education sector, Shuni Dahiru don take over as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Shu’aibu Aliyu, wey government move to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).
The President also appoint Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
Iorja replace Mathias Byuan, wey resign from the position to contest for Benue State governorship election.
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take effect immediately.
