The National Economic Council (NEC) led by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the State House, Abuja don give states wey flood don affect deadline to submit their inventory of damages before next week Monday.
Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, and Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, don talk about the flood disasters for different parts of the country. Dem disclose say NEC don mandate affected states to submit their inventory of damages.
NEC don also set Monday, September 9th as deadline for four states—Adamawa, Kebbi, Kwara, and Sokoto—plus the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to submit their reports on the establishment of State Police. Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal, talk say after the NEC meeting, states wey never submit their Memorandum need to do so or dem go follow any decision wey NEC make.
Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Ali Pate, talk say because of the re-emergence of Polio virus cases for Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, NEC don decide to set up Committee on the Eradication of Vaccine-Derived Poliovirus (VDPV) wey Gombe State Governor go chair.
Dr. Pate also add say NEC don agree to prioritize nutrition interventions for the 2025 budget at all levels—federal, state, and local—to ensure say enough funds go dey allocated to meet the nation’s nutrition goals.
