Governorship candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, don strongly condemn the killing of social media commentator and political critic, Ibrahim Dan Shagamu, wey unknown attackers kill for im house for Gaida area of Kumbotso Local Government Area.
For statement wey im spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, release on Thursday, Gwarzo describe the killing as one wicked and painful act wey no suppose happen for any society wey get law.
According to am, nobody suppose lose im life because of wetin e talk, wetin e believe or political side wey e support. E say political differences and criticism no be reason to shed blood or end person life.
Gwarzo call on security agencies make dem quickly dig deep into the matter, fish out everybody wey get hand for the killing and make justice catch them without delay.
The killing of Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu pain well-well and e no get any excuse. No quarrel, criticism or political difference fit justify why person go take another person life.
Reports show say attackers force enter Dan Shagamu house for Gaida on Monday night and attack am with sharp objects. The attack later lead to im death and don raise serious fear among residents, especially people wey dey use social media take express dia opinion on political matters.
Kano Police Command don already arrest two suspects in connection with the incident. Police spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirm say the attack happen around 11:30 for night after local vigilante leaders report say some hoodlums break enter the deceased house before attacking am.
Gwarzo warn say if security agencies no handle the investigation with seriousness and speed, e fit increase fear among citizens and shake people confidence for the security system.
E send condolence to the family, friends and associates of the late commentator, urging them to remain calm while investigation dey continue.
The NDC candidate still call for tighter security across Kano communities, saying protection of lives and property remain one of the biggest responsibilities of government.
