Police in Kenya don fire tear gas to scatter protesters wey try to occupy a church wey recently receive a big donation from Kenyan President, William Ruto.

The 20 million shillings ($155,000) donation to the Jesus Winner Ministry in the Roysambu suburb of Nairobi spark criticism from some young Kenyans wey dey struggle with the high cost of living. During the protest, several people were arrested.

President Ruto, who be evangelical Christian, defend the donation, say na to help address the country’s moral decay. He also offer a similar donation to another church in Eldoret, a city in the west of Kenya.

Last year, Kenya’s Catholic and Anglican leaders reject donations, saying there’s need to protect the church from being used for political purposes.
