Federal Government don announce say another 270 Nigerians wey dey South Africa go return home as part of effort to rescue citizens affected by xenophobic attacks and worsening security situation for the country.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Air Peace special flight go leave Lagos for Johannesburg on Tuesday and return with 270 registered Nigerians wey don indicate interest to come back home.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, say government still dey worry about the safety of Nigerians for South Africa, especially after two Nigerians, Musa Yunana Joe and Charles Iroegbu, lose their lives during the attacks.
She call on South African authorities to investigate the killings and punish those responsible. She also urge Nigerians wey feel say their lives dey danger to take advantage of the free evacuation flights.
The minister add say President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approve extension of the evacuation exercise beyond the June 30 deadline, and another flight go still leave for South Africa on July 10 as the final evacuation mission.
Odumegwu-Ojukwu advise Nigerians wey never decide whether to return or stay to put their safety first, saying property fit replace, but life no fit come back once e don lost.
