Now, Senegal don join the small group of 12 African countries wey get their own surveillance and telecommunications satellites for space.
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye talk say this move na big step towards Senegal’s “technological sovereignty.”
The nanosatellite wey dem name GAINDESAT-1A, wey Senegalese engineers build in partnership with France’s Montpellier University Space Centre, don enter orbit with 115 other satellites. The satellite go dey used to gather data for different state agencies, including those wey dey handle water resources, civil aviation, and meteorology.
