Bayelsa State Government don begin operation to pull down building and structure dem wey enter road reserve and other public places for Yenagoa, di state capital.
Di exercise happen on Thursday for Etegwe area along Mbiama-Yenagoa Road, Bay-Bridge Road and INEC Road for Kpansia. Officials from Bayelsa State Physical Planning and Development Board identify several structures wey dey block areas wey goment reserve for road and public use, and dem pull dem down.
According to di board, di operation na part of effort to make di state capital more organised and make people follow di town planning rules wey dey ground.
Chairman of di board, Kuroakegha Dorgu, tok say di exercise dey in line with di development plan of Governor Douye Diri administration. E say di board get responsibility to make sure say anybody wey wan build for di state follow approved plans and no enter areas wey goment reserve for road or public use.
Dorgu explain say di operation no be only to remove illegal structures, but also to make movement easier for residents, improve safety and make Yenagoa look better.
E assure residents say di board go continue to enforce planning laws and protect public spaces across di state capital.
Di chairman also advise property owners, developers, traders and residents make dem obey planning regulations and avoid putting up structures for road reserve, goment land and other public places.
E add say Bayelsa State Goment remain committed to proper development of di capital city and go continue to support efforts wey go make Yenagoa more organised and better for everybody.
