Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu don write Lagos state House of Assembly on top decision of the state executive to set the last week of September every year for Yoruba culture celebration.

The government decision follow one resolution wey Lagos Assembly pass for sitting wey happen on September 19, 2023.

The letter wey the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture sign, and wey the Clerk of Lagos state House of Assembly read, inform lawmakers say the state go soon start planning for this year celebration.

The Speaker of Lagos state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, praise Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and him cabinet for the decision, talk say e good well well.

Obasa still talk say the set aside days go help preserve Yoruba cultural heritage, and say the House dey ready to support the executive to ensure say the Yoruba Week wey dem plan go successful.

The House still hold one minute silence to honour the late former Governor of old Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, wey dem recently bury while the House dey on break.

Speaker Mudashiru Obasa describe the late politician as person wey support Yorubas and the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) especially during military regime and during the struggle for Chief MKO Abiola.
