Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Law Mefor, for statement wey im release for Awka, tok say report from Debt Management Office show say as at June 2026, balance of di foreign loan wey Obi administration leave behind stand for N127.4 billion.
According to di goment, Obi administration collect eight different foreign loan for malaria fight, erosion control, school, hospital and oda development work. Dem tok say present administration still dey bring out plenty money every month to service di debt.
Di statement come after Obi reject allegation say im leave any unpaid debt. Obi insist say when im hand over power, Anambra no owe salary, pension, gratuity or money for work wey contractor don finish. Im even tok say if anybody fit show proof say im leave debt behind, im fit stop im 2027 presidential race.
But Anambra goment tok say di claim no correct. Dem allege say Obi leave unpaid salary, pension and gratuity for some retired teachers and workers of Water Corporation. Dem add say some of di arrears still dey till now.
For di N2 billion ecological fund matter, Obi claim say di money dey untouched inside one First Bank account for UNIZIK branch before im leave office. But di state goment reject di claim, tok say di account no be ecological fund account. Dem add say from when di account open till now, no record show any N2.13 billion balance or inflow.
