The leadership of the National Assembly and representatives of the Federal Government bin meet on Sunday evening with the leadership of organised labour to try prevent the nationwide strike wey dem plan for today Monday, June 3.

For di meeting, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, bin talk say di demands of labour make sense, but e beg labour say make dem settle di matter sake of di kontri, and make dem consider di money wey dey government purse, and di private sector, so make dem avoid wahala.

Speaker of di House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also talk say e important make all di parties work together well, so dem fit reach agreement wey go make everybody happy.

Before dis meeting, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, bin talk say di ₦494,000 minimum wage wey labour dey ask for fit spoil di economy and put di welfare of over 200 million Nigerians for risk.

But afta four-hour meeting with di leadership of di National Assembly on Sunday for Abuja, di leadership of Organised Labour don talk say dem no dey change dia mind about di nationwide strike wey dem don plan to start today, June 3, 2024.
