The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of non-teaching staff unions in universities don tell their members to start a nationwide indefinite strike from today, Monday, October 28, 2024, because of four months’ salaries wey dem never pay.

JAC include the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU). For one circular wey dem send to member unions across the country, dem express regret say, despite President Bola Tinubu’s approval to pay 50% of the four months’ withheld salaries, none of their members don receive any payment.

Dem also talk say the union don send several notices to the government to fix this bad situation, but dem doubt the government’s sincerity in handling the matter.
