The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) don give the Federal Government 14 days ultimatum, starting from tomorrow February 9 to February 14, 2024, concerning the non-implementation of the 16-point agreement wey both parties bin agree on after dem remove the petrol subsidy.
For one statement wey the leaders of the two labour unions, Joe Ajaero and Festus Usifo, sign yesterday, dem talk say dem dey sad as, despite the time wey don pass, “the majority of crucial agreements remain unmet or negligibly addressed.”
Dem say the agreements wey dem reach with the Federal Government dey focused on how to solve the serious suffering and the general harsh economic consequences wey happen because of the increase for the price of PMS and the devaluation of the Naira wey IMF/World Bank talk make dem do.
The labour unions come call on the Federal Government make dem respect their agreement without any delay. Dem talk say the time for empty promises and excuses don pass.
