Nigeria don launch 10-year National Elephant Action Plan after di country’s elephant population drop by 86% in di last 30 years.
At di launch for Abuja yesterday, Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Salako, talk say Nigeria’s elephant population dey face serious threat, dropping from 1,500 to about 300-400.
Di minister explain say di 10-year National Elephant Action Plan go provide di strategic framework wey go guide all di actors wey dey involved for elephant conservation and management. Salako add say di document dey designed to be flexible, fit adapt to new threats, challenges, and opportunities.
