The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) don suspend the food disposal initiative wey dem get, after seven people die for stampede on February 23.

The incident happen during the distribution of 25kg bags of rice for the Zonal Headquarters for Yaba, Lagos State.

The NCS talk say dem suspend the initiative so that dem fit properly plan the next step, and not because dem don abandon the whole idea. The National Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Mr. Abdullahi Maiwada, talk this one for one statement.

According to Maiwada, during the pilot distribution, the bags of rice wey dem get no reach for everybody wey dey, and this lead to serious trouble among the crowd.

He talk say dem don start an internal investigation to find out how the unfortunate event happen, and dem dey sympathize with the families of the people wey die, and dem promise to support them.
