Namibia don plan to kill 723 wild animals, including 83 elephants, and distribute di meat to people wey dey struggle to feed themselves because of severe drought wey dey affect southern Africa.
Di authorities talk say di culling necessary to address di drought, and di meat go help people wey dey find it hard to get food. Di country’s environment ministry release statement say di culling go happen for parks and communal areas wey dem believe say di number of animals don pass di available grazing land and water supplies.
Dem go also cull 300 zebra, 100 eland, 100 blue wildebeest, 60 buffaloes, 30 hippos, and 50 impalas. Southern Africa dey face di worst drought in decades, with Namibia don finish 84% of its food reserves last month.
