INEC don extend PVC collection for Edo State by three days

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) don extend di collection of Personal Voter’s Cards (PVCs) for Edo State by three days ahead of di governorship election.

For one statement wey Mr. Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, sign, dem talk say di extension na from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th September 2024. People fit collect their PVCs for all di 18 INEC offices inside Edo State from 9:00am to 5:00pm every day.

Earlier, for one meeting with stakeholders, INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, assure say di commission dey ready to conduct di election, and all di stakeholders’ concerns go get attention.

Ahead of di September 21, 2024 governorship election, di Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, don warn political actors, supporters, and voters make dem play by di rules or face di law. Egbetokun tok say dem go deploy 35,000 police officers for di election, plus 8,000 personnel from armed forces and other security agencies. Di IGP also announce say Edo State Security Corps wey dem ban, go remain suspended till further notice.
