The House of Representatives don decide to intervene for the wahala wey dey between the female national football team, the Super Falcons, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) before the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Dem take this decision after Rep. Olumide Osoba (APC-Ogun) present motion during plenary on Wednesday. he talk say the situation no just dey embarrass us, e still dey raise serious questions about how we dey treat our athletes and the overall management of sports for our country.
Osoba talk say e dey important to take action wey go prevent the planned boycott of the FIFA World Cup by the female national team, the Falcons. E talk say for the past, dem don see cases wey salaries, allowances, and bonuses no dey pay, plus dem dey dismiss players for the Nigerian women’s sports teams without any proper reason.
Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, for him ruling, come advise the Sports Committee wey go soon start work to invite the NFF and other stakeholders to give detailed reports on the actions wey dem don take to resolve the dispute and make sure say the team fit participate well for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
