FG Don Hold ASUU Hand As Dem Register 2 Unions for University System

Federal Government don handcuff ASUU after dem “register” TWO UNIONS for the university system.

The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, wey explain say the two new unions wey be the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics (NAMDA) and the Congress of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA), go dey side-by-side with ASUU, come even add jara say the two associations go enjoy the same rights and privilege wey other academic unions for the tertiary education system dey enjoy.

ASUU don dey strike since Valentine day, February 14, as lecturers of public universities dey protest “igbese wey government dey owe dem” and also demand “better welfare package too.

Meanwhile, ASUU don respond to the recent government registration of two new trade unions for academic staff for university system, as e say dat one no shake dem at all at all.

Dia National Presido, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, tok say dat move no get levuls as dat move no fear dem.

He claim say ASUU members no be saboteurs or eye-service pipo, say dia members sabi dia vision and mission.

Dem repeat wetin oga Presido Muhammadu Buhari been tok say the competition for money don dey tougher because of the recent increase for the number of tertiary institutions for Nigeria.
