Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, talk dis one during di ‘Unlock Training and Grants’ ceremony wey dem do on Saturday, where 200 young entrepreneurs collect grants wey reach N100 million.
Minister Kennedy-Ohanenye talk say di government dey serious to protect di rights and welfare of minors. She announce say from June 20, all hotels go need to put big signboard wey go talk say ‘No Lodging of Underage Girls’ outside dia hotels. Dis new law na to stop di exploitation and abuse of young girls, and to make sure say minors dey safe for di country.
She talk say, “Di hospitality industry must obey dis new rule. If dem no obey, strict punishment go follow. We serious to protect our children well well and we no go tolerate any violation.”
Dis new law na part of di Ministry of Women Affairs plan to fight child exploitation and abuse. Di new signboard wey hotels go put na to warn people say no misconduct go dey allowed for hotel premises.
Minister Kennedy-Ohanenye also tell school proprietors make dem take quick and serious action against bullying wey teachers or students dey do. She talk say bullying dey affect children mental and physical health well well and di need to make schools safe for learning and growth dey very important.
“Schools must be places where children fit learn and grow without fear and intimidation,” di Minister talk. “We dey beg school administrators to put strong anti-bullying policies and make sure say dem address any incident quickly. To protect our children na all of us work.”
Di ‘Unlock Training and Grants’ ceremony wey give plenty financial support to 200 young entrepreneurs, show di government commitment to empower young Nigerians. Di grants wey reach N100 million na to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth among di youth for di country.
