Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) don announce say dem go fine any Deposit Money Bank ₦150 million if dem give mint naira notes to currency hawkers.

CBN take dis action to clear wahala and misinformation about the old N1000, N500, and N200 notes wey still dey circulate.

Sidi Ali Hakama, the acting director of corporate communications, sign one statement to confirm say people fit still use these denominations as legal money, based on Supreme Court ruling on November 29, 2023. CBN also warn people to stop hiding the money.
