FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, don talk say if President Bola Tinubu lose di 2027 presidential election, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi fit make am their first political target because of di way e dey openly support Tinubu.
Wike make di statement on Wednesday during media chat for Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where e defend im decision to continue campaigning for Tinubu’s second term, even though e still remain member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Di minister say e know say im strong support for Tinubu don put am for dangerous political position, especially because e don dey go hard against opposition politicians like Atiku and Obi.
Wike explain say if anything happen and Tinubu fail to win di 2027 election, e believe say na him go first face political attack from di opposition.
According to am, “I will support Mr President. If Mr President fails today, I will be the first politician that Atiku or Obi will hunt for his head.”
E add say e no go make di mistake of sitting down and watching Tinubu lose di election.
Wike and Atiku don dey political fight since 2022 after Atiku win PDP presidential ticket ahead of Wike. Peter Obi, wey dey prepare to contest di 2027 election, also dey among opposition politicians wey Wike don openly oppose.
Wike further ask whether e suppose fold im hands make Atiku win di 2027 presidential election, insisting say e go continue to work for Tinubu’s re-election.
Di FCT Minister also deny report say e wan relocate from Abuja go Rivers State. E explain say im frequent visits to Rivers no mean say e dey relocate, but na to stay connected with im people and monitor political developments for di state as 2027 election dey come closer.
Wike say e no wan sit down for Abuja while political associates dey tell am say everything dey alright for Rivers. E want personally check things and know wetin dey happen on ground.
Meanwhile, Wike also promise say all major capital projects wey Tinubu administration start for Abuja go complete before di President’s tenure finish.
According to am, Tinubu administration don start 107 capital projects for FCT, with 76 already completed. E say another 10 projects go commission before di January election, while government go complete di remaining ones before di end of Tinubu’s tenure.
Wike also reveal say FCT Administration inherit 25 projects from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s government and don complete 23, while work still dey on for two.
E add say government inherit another eight projects from former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Yar’Adua, with six don complete and two still under construction.
