The Rivers State Police Command don take over all the 23 Council Secretariats and some important government structures for the state.

For one statement wey the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state, Grace Iringe-Koko, sign, the police talk say dem decide to take over the councils to avoid more bloodshed and make sure security no go worsen for the state.

The police also confirm say two people die for Eberi-Omuma, Omuma Local Government Area, including one police officer and one unnamed local security guard wey dem dey call “vigilante.”

For one security council meeting wey Governor Siminalayi Fubara hold yesterday, him discuss with heads of security agencies on how to stop the invasion of local government secretariats.

21 out of the 23 outgoing Local Government chairpersons insist say dem no go hand over, cause make some heated moments dey the state.
