Lagos State bin submit dem bid to host di games earlier dis year, and as part of di process, top oga dem for Lagos State Sports Commission join body with National Sports Commission delegates do two-day waka to inspect sports facilities wey dey across di state.

Di inspection start for Teslim Balogun Stadium for Surulere, then dem waka go National Stadium. Dem still check other places like Elegbata Sports Complex wey dem just renovate, Mobolaji Johnson Arena for Onikan, Cricket Oval for Tafawa Balewa Square, Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre for Rowe Park Yaba, University of Lagos Sports Complex, CMS Grammar School for Bariga, and Agege Stadium.

As dem dey inspect di facilities, Fatodu yarn say Lagos get experience to host big tournaments and e sure say di Youth Games go be one wey go make history.

“As Lagos don host plenty big events before, we ready to make history again with di Youth Games for 2026,” na wetin he talk. “Sports don pass just play-play, e don turn to something wey fit give person purpose for life. Na dat kind vision Lagos dey pursue.

“We wan use our history take bring unity, peace and empower di youth. Na dis kind message go dey inside our plan, our theme and wetin we go do as we dey prepare to host di games. We don start work to rebuild, renovate and upgrade di key facilities wey dey for di state.”

Di Director of Grassroots Sports Development and head of di NSC delegation, Amaka Ashiofu, talk say one of di main reason wey dem dey give hosting rights na to help develop sports infrastructure.

She talk say di inspection na to see wetin dem fit improve, and di commission go work hand-in-hand with Lagos State Government to make sure everything go smooth.

Meanwhile, Delta State go host di next edition of di games from August 26 reach September 6.
