Guinean court don sentence former military ruler to 20 years for prison

Court for Guinea don sentence former military ruler, Moussa Dadis Camara, to 20 years for prison because of crimes against humanity. The charges come from one of the worst massacres for the country’s history—when soldiers kill more than 156 people after dem open fire for rally wey happen for September 2009. The rally na to demand make civilian rule return.

Camara take power after coup wey happen when long-time President Lansana Conté die for 2008, but he run comot the country after he survive assassination attempt shortly after the massacre. He return from exile for Burkina Faso for September 2022 to face justice, but he insist say he no do the crimes.

Court convict Camara along with seven of him military commanders, but dem acquit four others.
