Users wey dey Mexico go still see the body of water wey dey the eastern coast of the country to the Florida panhandle as Gulf of Mexico. Google Maps users for everywhere else go still see the original name but with “Gulf of America” for parentheses.

For the press release about the change, Google talk say e follow the Geographic Names Information System, wey na U.S. database.
