Federal Government don forecast say heavy rain go fall for five days wey fit cause flood for 19 states and 76 locations.

Di warning wey dem give on Tuesday come from National Flood Early Warning Systems Centre under Federal Ministry of Environment, and dem don tell stakeholders and people wey dey affected areas make dem take quick action.

Dis one dey happen as serious flood knack Ogun and Gombe states on Tuesday, and other states like Lagos, Plateau, Anambra and Delta still dey suffer from di wahala.

According to wetin di centre talk for their flood prediction wey our reporter see, di places wey go dey affected go see rain wey fit cause flood from August 5 reach August 9, 2025.

Di states and locations wey dem mention na Akwa-Ibom (Edor, Eket, Ikom, Oron, Upenekang); Bauchi (Tafawa-Balewa, Azare, Jama’are, Kari, Misau, Jama’a); Ebonyi (Abakaliki, Echara, Ezilo); Cross-River (Ogoja Edor, Obubra); Nasarawa (Keana, Keffi, Wamba); Benue (Agaku, Buruku, Gboko, Igumale, Ito, Katsina-Ala, Ugba, Vande-Ikya); Kaduna (Jaji, Kafancha, Birnin-Gwari, Zaria) and Katsina (Bindawa, Bakori, Daura, Funtua).

Di report wey our reporter see on Tuesday show say Niger State get di highest number of death, with 163 people wey die, followed by Adamawa State wey 26 people die. One person each die for Borno and Gombe states.

Di data still show say so far this year, flood don affect 134,435 people for 20 states and 47 local government areas.

Di states wey flood affect na Abia, FCT (Abuja), Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, and Kaduna. Others na Kano, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Ondo, Rivers, and Sokoto.

Plus that one, 48,056 people don lose their house, and 239 people don wound. Di flood still spoil 9,499 houses and affect 9,450 farms.

NEMA dashboard still show say among people wey flood affect, 27,121 na men, 41,539 na women, 60,071 na children, 5,704 na old people, and 1,874 na people wey get disability.

For 2024, flood affect 5,264,097 people, displace 1,243,638 across 35 states and 401 local government areas. Di disaster kill 1,237 people and wound 16,469.

Dem still talk say 116,172 houses don spoil, and 1,439,296 hectares of farm land don scatter, wey make di economic and humanitarian wahala worse across di country.
