Construction of 2nd Niger Bridge Construction Don Complete – Fashola

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has confirmed that the 2nd Niger Bridge construction is now completed and will soon open for public use.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola who made this known while presenting President Buhari’s administration scorecard yesterday in Abuja, however added that the only factor delaying the commissioning of the road is the construction of the link road impeded by the recent surge of flooding.

The minister also noted that the Federal government has removed 5% equity contribution for home owners seeking to borrow up to N5 million, under the federal government housing authority.

He also disclosed that government has also reduced equity contribution from 15% to 10% for those who wish to borrow N5 million and above.

Meanwhile, the Federal government has ordered controllers of works to assess the level of destruction caused by floods across the country with a view to taking actions to improve the situation.

At the same time, the controllers are to ascertain emergency actions that could be taken to save lives and properties threatened by flood.
