The Africa Film Academy don reveal the highly anticipated nominations for the upcoming 20th edition of the Africa Movie Award Academy (AMAA).
The nomination unveiling happen for Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, GRA, with members of the jury and screener college, plus representatives from the AFA board, including Mr. Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, the Chief Operating Officer of AMAA, Mr. Tony Anih, and gala night producer, Mr. Kingsley James.
This year’s edition, in partnership with Lagos State, dey themed ‘Celebrating African Creativity.’ Anyiam-Osigwe talk about the activities wey go happen for the 2024 edition, noting say this edition dey significant because e be the 20th one.
Some of the planned activities include the launch of the AMAA coffee book, AMAA Africa Night of Legends, AMAA Meets Nollywood, AMAA Africa Fashion Show and Exhibition, and the AMAA Gala Night.
The activities kick off with the unveiling of the nominees and categories by the AMAA college of screeners and the jury. The AMAA coffee book launch go happen on October 25, while the Africa Night of Legends go take place on November 1. The awards ceremony and gala night go happen on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Balmoral Convention Centre inside Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
Anyiam-Osigwe emphasize say the 2024 AMAA go redefine continental awards and chart the way for the next phase, while celebrating the greatness of Africa’s creative industry.
The nomination unveiling was hosted by popular show host, Vimbai Mutinhiri Ekpenyong, and plenty notable guests attend the event, including Mr. George Anyiam-Osigwe, his wife Chinyere, Mr. Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe, and others.
