Dem don dey talk say PDP national convention wey dem plan for November for Ibadan fit scatter, as Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, don threaten say e go stop the event.

Dem say Wike no wan make the convention happen because e get beef with him former padi, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, plus other wahala wey still dey inside the party.

As the November 16 convention dey near, PDP don warn Wike make e no try spoil their plan. The party Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, yarn for Abuja say if Wike no calm down, dem go use PDP constitution take deal with am.

Some PDP big men like Deputy National Youth Leader Timothy Osadolor and former South West Vice Chairman Eddy Olafeso talk say Wike don dey pass him boundary, and dem go stand gidigba against am.

Dem talk say PDP dey try rebuild and the Ibadan convention na part of the plan to make the party strong again. Dem insist say no one person fit stop wetin the party dey do, especially as INEC don already dey involved.

PDP just dey recover from serious gbege wey make big people waka comot go APC and African Democratic Congress. People like Atiku Abubakar, Ifeanyi Okowa, Sheriff Oborevwori, Umo Eno and others don leave the party.

As PDP dey try rearrange and reposition itself, dem talk for their 101st NEC meeting wey happen July 24 say dem go do National Elective Convention for Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16. Na there dem go elect 19 new people into the National Working Committee.

But Wike no happy with the South-South Caretaker Committee wey PDP NWC set up, plus say dem still keep Ali Odefa as National Vice Chairman for South East. Wike talk say him people no go gree for that kind decision.

As e dey yarn for Channels TV programme ‘Politics Today’ on Tuesday night, Wike wey be former Rivers State governor warn say even though e look like PDP wahala don calm down, new gbege fit burst if PDP no gree say Dan Orbih na the correct National Vice Chairman for South-South.

E talk say, “E don end for now. But some things still remain and I don tell them say dem must do am. Our congress happen for Calabar, and nobody fit tell us otherwise. If dem wan start new crisis, make dem go ahead. For that congress, Chief Dan Orbih win as National Vice Chairman. Dem no wan make the congress hold but e still hold.”

Wike still talk say the acting national chairman write INEC say the congress don postpone after e don already happen. E talk say, “No two way about am. The National Vice Chairman for PDP South-South na Chief Dan Orbih. If dem no gree, na another round of crisis be that.”

E still talk say PDP suppose handle the matter of Ali Odefa wey court don sack as South-East zonal chairman.

E talk say, “Ali Odefa no be party member again. Na wetin I dey tell people be that. Wetin I no like na impunity. And person like me no go gree for am. I no go allow am. We go fight am unless dem correct am.”

Wike talk say the national convention wey PDP dey plan fit turn wahala if dem no fix the gbege wey still dey inside the party.

Dem say convention go happen for November, but Wike talk say e no dey part of am until dem correct the matter. E say, “Make we wait, time still dey for dem to settle am. Before una dey shout convention, make una first settle the palava. If dem no settle am, kasala go burst.”

E deny the tori wey dey fly say dem dey plan parallel convention, say PDP NEC never take any official decision.

Wike talk say, “I no sabi any convention wey go happen for Ibadan. As NEC member, nobody don tell me anything, and NEC never vote on top that matter. If small group gather talk say dem don decide, that one no be NEC.”

E still promise say him group go continue to fight against injustice inside PDP.

As FCT Minister, Wike talk say, “I no sabi any convention. If dem no give NEC members notice for meeting, we get right to challenge am, and nobody fit stop me from doing that.”

When dem ask am whether e go carry the matter go court, Wike reply say, “Our group go meet tomorrow, and I no believe say we go allow injustice win. I fit assure you say we no go gree. Nobody dey serve PDP pass me. None of them.”

Dem talk say former governors Samuel Ortom from Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu from Abia, PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, plus other Wike people gather together on Tuesday.

Even though Wike group never hold their meeting by press time, people wey dey close to the minister talk say the meeting go soon happen and dem go announce wetin dem decide publicly.

One person from Wike camp wey no wan make dem mention him name talk say Wike and him people ready to fight reach the end.

E talk say, “We go meet later today (Wednesday). Wetin I fit tell you be say Wike and some of us go fight till the end. The injustice wey dey South-South and South-East no go stand.

“If PDP no ready to fix this matter, we go do everything wey law allow to handle am. But if dem wan make convention hold, dem must act fast; if not, surprise go meet dem.”

As reaction, PDP Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, talk say all NEC members don get proper notice and the National Elective Convention go still hold as dem plan am.

E talk say, “Our NEC and other meetings don happen well. We follow due process. INEC don get the correct info about the NEC meetings wey concern this matter. I no go argue with anybody on top this issue.

“The PDP constitution dey, and we dey follow am. Our preparation dey go well. NEC wey be the second-biggest decision body for PDP don choose Ibadan, Oyo State, as venue for the national convention on November 15 and 16, 2025.

“That convention go hold for Ibadan on those dates. Like I talk before, the train wey dey go convention don already move, and e dey reach destination because all arrangement and committee work dey go smoothly.”

Ologunagba still talk say dem get document wey show say everybody wey suppose know, including Minister Wike, don get letter wey e sign for. If him office get wahala, PDP no go carry the blame. Apart from the personal letter, dem still publish am for national newspaper. So, notice dey well well: members don approve am, NEC don approve am, secretaries don approve am, all PDP organs don approve am. Everything dey set for the convention.

When dem ask how PDP go handle Wike and him group wey dey oppose the plan, Ologunagba talk say PDP go take the “necessary steps.”

E add say, “This party don do everything wey law allow, and we go continue to follow the constitution. If anybody do anything wey no follow the constitution, we go take action. We don talk am before and we mean am.

“Party na voluntary thing; anybody fit enter or comot. But e no make sense if person dey inside party wey get rules and e no wan follow the rules. So, we no dey drag issue with anybody. We dey focus on our process to make the convention smooth, because na hope for democracy be this.

“We dey focused, seriously focused, on wetin go help democracy and our party. And we go talk am again: PDP no go gree for disloyalty. PDP na party wey follow process, rule and law. We get way to take action and find solution wey follow constitution, and we go do wetin correct.”
