Osun State Government don sharply deny allegation wey say dem loot ₦11 billion from state purse, come accuse Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) say dem dey spread false story to cover dia own illegal action.

For statement wey Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, drop on Thursday, government talk say no kobo miss and no financial wahala happen. Dem come allege say na former governor, Gboyega Oyetola, use EFCC take frustrate payment of palliative money wey state government promise workers.

According to the government, na Oyetola order make EFCC freeze state account so workers no go collect dia palliative allowance.

Dem however talk say despite the account freeze, all Osun workers don already collect dia palliative money after government and labour leaders settle the matter.

Osun Government still maintain say the anti-corruption agency dey do political work for APC instead of real investigation.

The government come insist say no be looting dem dey do for Osun, but development.

Osun Government further allege say EFCC don dey investigate top state officials since March 2026 but up till now, dem never see any evidence wey fit nail anybody.

According to dem, officials dey face constant invitation and harassment every week, all in the name of investigation.

Dem come challenge EFCC say if dem really get proof say anybody loot money, make dem follow due process and charge suspects to court instead of freezing government accounts for political reasons.

The government conclude say EFCC allegation na afterthought wey no get leg to stand on, adding say the commission dey try damage Osun image because the account-freezing move don backfire.

Meanwhile, EFCC earlier talk say dem freeze Osun State accounts to stop alleged diversion of public funds ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
