Tinubu don approve extra time for Customs Comptroller-General to continue work

President Bola Tinubu don approve one extra year for di Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, to continue work.

Adeniyi tenure suppose end August 31, 2025, but e go remain for office reach August 2026.

According to wetin di President Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, talk, di extension na to help Adeniyi finish di reforms wey him start and complete important plans for Tinubu government.

Some of di plans na to modernize Nigeria Customs Service, carry out di National Single Window Project, and fulfill Nigeria responsibility under di African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

Di statement talk say Tinubu dey appreciate Adeniyi leadership and dedication. Di President believe say di extension go make Customs Service strong well-well to carry out trade facilitation, make better money for government, and protect border.

Tinubu appoint Adeniyi as Customs CG for October 2023. Before that, Adeniyi don take over from former CG Hameed Ali for June 2023, first as acting CG before e confirm am for October.
