Again? Three-Storey Building Don Crash for Lagos, One Person Die

One three-storey building don collapse for Alakija area of Lagos on Thursday, as one person don die and at least 10 others don survive after emergency workers rescue dem from under the rubble.

The building crash around 11:40am near Alakija Bus Stop for Old Ojo Road, Satellite Town, causing serious panic among residents, traders and people wey dey pass the area.

Eye witnesses talk say the building suddenly fall, trapping several people wey dey inside, including traders and residents wey don start their daily activities.

Before emergency agencies reach the scene, residents and police officers from Area E Command and Satellite Police Division quickly start rescue efforts.

Later, different emergency agencies, including LASEMA, NEMA, Fire Service, LASBCA, Navy, Police and Red Cross, join the operation to search for survivors.

Dem also bring heavy machines, including excavators, to clear the debris and rescue trapped victims.

As of Thursday afternoon, emergency officials confirm say 10 people don comot alive from the rubble and receive treatment for different injuries, while one adult man sadly lose im life.

Authorities still fear say more people fit dey trapped under the collapsed building, especially as reports show say traders also dey use the structure as shopping complex.

Margaret Adeseye, wey be General Manager of Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, talk say rescue teams respond fast and still dey work round the clock to save anybody wey remain trapped.

The incident cause heavy traffic for Alakija area as rescue operation continue.
