Human rights activist and AAC former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, don enter Kuje Correctional Centre after Federal High Court for Abuja order make dem remand am on Monday.

The case na over alleged cybercrime and defamation matter wey DSS file against am after Sowore call President Bola Tinubu “criminal” for social media post wey e make for August 2025.

According to court matter, DSS accuse am of cyberstalking and criminal defamation. Sowore refuse to delete the post, saying na him freedom of speech.

Earlier this year, court reject application wey Sowore file to strike out the charges and order am to open him defence. After him lawyers withdraw from the case, Sowore decide to represent himself and later accuse the judge of bias.

Wahala come increase when Sowore no appear for court hearing on June 16. Prosecutors call am delay tactic, and the judge cancel him bail and issue warrant for him arrest.

Today, Justice Mohammed Umar throway Sowore request to remove am from the case because of alleged bias and order make dem remand Sowore for Kuje Prison pending continuation of the trial on June 24, 2026.

Sowore still dey maintain say e no commit any offence and plead “not guilty.”
