As dem dey talk during multi-agency meeting on anti-kidnapping wey happen for Abuja on Tuesday, wey dem organise with di United Kingdom National Crime Agency, di National Coordinator of di National Counter Terrorism Centre, Maj Gen Adamu Laka, talk say even though some of di kidnapped girls don get rescue over di years, effort to free di remaining ones never stop.
He talk say, “Since when dem kidnap dem, those wey dem rescue no be just one time dem rescue dem; e be gradual process. Dem do negotiation to bring dem out. Dem do operations.”
“Luckily, when di thing start, around di year after dem kidnap di girls, I dey inside di operation area, and I sabi wetin military and intelligence people put in to rescue di first set of Chibok girls.
“We never give up hope on dem; some of dem don marry some of di insurgents. Some don come out. But make we no focus only on di Chibok girls.”
“Some oda people don dey kidnapped – Nigerian aid workers wey dem carry go. We don rescue some wey dey work with UNICEF.”
Laka talk say di silence wey dey media no mean say government no dey do anything or say dem no care.
E talk say, “We don rescue some wey dey work for UNHCR and IOM and others. So, we still dey try our best.
“Leah Shaibu matter still dey ground. We no dey always talk about am, but no mean say we don forget dem or say we no care. We still dey work on top am. Our prayer na say all di remaining 87 or 80 plus go come back by God grace.”
