The controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) don take fresh turn as the House of Representatives Committee wey dey investigate the matter don order the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, to produce self-acclaimed Director-General of the organisation, Adeniyi Adeyemi, within 48 hours.
The order come on Monday during a heated investigative hearing for the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, as lawmakers tighten their grip on the scandal wey don shake several government institutions.
Representing the IGP during the hearing, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bashir Abdullahi, appear before the committee and receive direct instruction from lawmakers to ensure say Adeyemi appear before the panel by 12 noon on Wednesday.
Committee Chairman, Yusuf Gagdi, say Adeyemi presence don become necessary because the allegations surrounding the case too serious.
“People names dey involved. Government institutions names dey involved. Integrity dey involved. E no be option again. We need am here to answer questions and confirm some documents,” Gagdi talk.
The committee immediately direct its clerk to officially notify the Inspector-General of Police about the resolution.
During the hearing, ACP Abdullahi reveal say police investigations don already lead to an eight-count criminal charge against Adeyemi before a Federal High Court.
According to am, police don investigate part of the matter since last year and the case already dey before the court.
He however warn lawmakers against forcing police to reveal sensitive details wey fit affect the ongoing investigation or court proceedings.
“We no wan talk things wey fit prejudice investigation or make people conclude before court decide,” Abdullahi explain.
Police also confirm say on October 17, 2025, the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President submit petition against Adeyemi over allegations say he falsely presented himself as Director-General of government agencies wey no exist.
According to investigators, another petition accuse Adeyemi of presenting himself as DG of both, Presidential Economic Advisory Council, and Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Police say the allegations triggered extensive investigations wey later result in criminal charges linked to conspiracy and fraud.
The House Committee dey investigate how PFIPC allegedly operate like genuine government agency despite claims say the organisation no legally exist.

attempt to recruit about 300 workers, seek approval for ₦1.32 billion budget allocation in the 2026 budget, planned to organise a World Investment Summit under the council’s name.
These revelations don spark serious concern among lawmakers and government agencies.
One dramatic moment happen when lawmakers compare signatures from documents allegedly issued by the Office of the Chief of Staff with authentic government documents obtained by investigators.
When asked whether the signatures matched, the police witness answer sharply:
“They are not the same.”
The response immediately strengthen suspicions say several official documents may have been forged.
Committee Chairman Gagdi reveal say investigators don identify about 29 suspected forged documents linked to the case.
According to am, the documents allegedly include fake approvals and correspondences from, State House, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ministry of Finance, and other federal institutions.
He add say representatives from many of these agencies don already appear before the committee and deny issuing the documents.
Despite ongoing police investigation and court proceedings, the House insist say its own investigation go continue independently.
Gagdi assure Nigerians say lawmakers go thoroughly examine the matter and submit recommendations after completing their findings.
As pressure mounts, all eyes now dey on Wednesday when lawmakers expect police to produce Adeyemi before the committee.
