Police Grab ‘Fake DG’ Adeyemi For Osun After Court Order Arrest

Di self-proclaimed Director-General of di controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, Adeniyi Adeyemi, don land for police net after operatives arrest am for im hideout for Osun State.

Osun State Police Command spokesman, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirm di arrest on Tuesday, tok say na Intelligence Response Team (IRT) from Abuja carry out di operation and dem fit move Adeyemi go Abuja later today.

“Na true. Di Intelligence Response Team from Abuja arrest am here for Osun,” Ojelabi tok.

Video wey surface online show Adeyemi for light blue native cloth as security operatives surround am during di arrest. For di video, officers ask am make e identify himself, but e no quick answer directly.

When dem ask am again wetin be im name, Adeyemi reply say, “I don mention am several times.”

Di arrest happen just few hours after Justice Mohammed Umar of Federal High Court, Abuja, issue bench warrant for im arrest because e no show face for court to answer allegations of conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

Police don file eight-count charge against am and accuse am of running one organisation wey dem call Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, wey Presidency don already talk say no exist officially.

Court reject argument from Adeyemi lawyer wey claim say im client no come court because e fear for im life. Di judge insist say Adeyemi must appear and face trial. Di case don shift go September 30, 2026, for arraignment.

Interestingly, na just one day before di arrest, Adeyemi appear for Channels Television where e deny say e dey hide from security agencies.

According to am:

“I no dey hide. I fit show my face. Na only because I hear say my life dey danger.”

E still repeat im earlier claim say e pay ₦400 million through one middleman to secure di disputed DG appointment and call for independent investigation.

Police allege say Adeyemi forge several government documents, including one supposed presidential appointment letter wey dem say carry fake signature of Chief of Staff to di President, Femi Gbajabiamila. Investigators also accuse am of posing as DG and operating from office inside Federal Secretariat for Abuja.

If court find am guilty of forgery charges, Adeyemi fit spend up to 21 years for prison without option of fine, while di impersonation charge fit attract three years jail term or fine.
