PDP Dep Gov Candidate, Adebutu Wife Reward Retired Traffic Officer N1m

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate for Ogun State for the 2027 election, Hajia Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, and the wife of the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Adenike Adebutu, don give retired Deputy Superintendent of Traffic, DST Anifat Bello, N1m to appreciate her for her hard work and dedication during her years as traffic officer.

The two women announce the money on Sunday during reception and dinner wey Sowunmi-Kolapo organise for the retired traffic officer for Obantoko, Abeokuta.

Bello, wey many people dey call Aunty Anifat, don become popular for Ogun State because of the way she dey handle traffic and relate with motorists and residents.

Sowunmi-Kolapo praise Bello for her discipline, patience, professionalism and dedication to work during her years with Ogun State Police Command.

She present N500,000 to Bello and describe the money as small way to appreciate her for her service.

Sowunmi-Kolapo also tell Bello say the honour na just the beginning of better things for her, while encouraging other workers and security personnel to copy her dedication.

She also promise workers for Ogun State better welfare if the PDP candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, wins the 2027 governorship election.

According to her, workers go enjoy better treatment and hard work go dey rewarded under the government.

Meanwhile, Adenike Adebutu, wife of the PDP governorship candidate, add another N500,000 to the gift, bringing the total money wey Bello receive to N1m.

Mrs Adebutu praise Bello for always being happy and dedicated whenever she dey control traffic.

She also say Bello go have a place in Adebutu’s government if he wins the 2027 election.

Ogun PDP Chairman, Abayomi Tella, also praise the retired officer, saying her selfless service and concern for other people deserve recognition.

The party’s secretary, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo, describe Bello as a rare public servant because, according to am, she no dey collect bribe from motorists.

He also praise her for always smiling, greeting and saluting people while working, instead of transferring anger to road users.

Bello and her family members express happiness over the honour and cash gift.

Her younger brother, Nunasu Jacob, describe her as caring, generous, accommodating and jovial.

One of Bello’s daughters, Dorcas Olusegun, thank Sowunmi-Kolapo for organising the event and everybody wey support and celebrate her mother.

Bello herself dance during the ceremony to show her happiness and thank Sowunmi-Kolapo, Mrs Adebutu and others for remembering and honouring her.

She also use the opportunity to advise workers, especially young people, make dem take their work seriously because hard work dey pay.

Bello had earlier attracted attention after residents of Abeokuta celebrated her on her last day in uniform.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, and Accord Party had also recently honoured her for her dedication and service.
