Ondo State Government don stop private schools from doing graduation party for nursery and JSS students.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, announce the order on Wednesday for Akure when he meet with school owners from all the 18 local government areas for the state. He talk say the move na part of plan to clean up the education sector.

He talk say government don ban schools wey no register, introduce re-accreditation for private schools to make sure quality dey, and stop graduation ceremony for nursery pupils.

Ajibefun talk say, “I start my talk with private school owners because una dey play big role for education matter. This business serious pass many other ones. E clear say things don spoil for education sector, and we need act fast to bring back the lost glory.”

He explain say schools wey dey operate illegally go get six months grace to get approval. He add say dem go soon change the registration process to make am easier.

He talk say, “If you dey run school wey no get approval, na illegal business you dey do. This government no go allow illegal things. Na why we dey review the process. Very soon, new conditions go come out. All private schools for the state must meet the minimum standard.”

He still talk say dem don ban big graduation party, especially for nursery and JSS classes.

Ajibefun warn schools make dem no dey do excursion without permission from the ministry because of security wahala. He also talk say schools no suppose force students to do extra lesson and announce new policy wey go stop the yearly stress wey parents dey face to buy new textbooks.

He explain say siblings fit reuse textbooks for many years. He also talk say government dey work to digitise all schools, and very soon, every primary and secondary school student for the state go enter the ministry’s digital platform.
