Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) don suspend one of dia officers, Deputy Superintendent of Corps, Onoja Babayo Samuel, over alleged shooting during wahala between am and traders for Kubwa Market, Abuja.
The corps also order make dem conduct internal disciplinary trial to determine the officer level of involvement for the incident wey happen on October 25, 2026.
The suspension follow after FCT Police Command arrest the officer over allegation say e fire gunshots into the air during confrontation with traders.
For statement wey the NSCDC National Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, release on Thursday, the corps talk say the officer action break dia rules on how personnel suppose use firearms and carry out official duties.
The statement quote the NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as saying say the corps no go tolerate misuse of firearms or any kind of professional misconduct.
The Commandant General therefore direct immediate suspension of the officer and Orderly Room Trial to determine whether e commit the alleged offence.
The corps add say dem don remove Samuel from all official duties and relieve am of his assignment until dem complete the disciplinary process.
According to the NSCDC, committee for dia national headquarters for Abuja go handle the matter. The corps promise to make the outcome of the internal investigation and disciplinary proceedings public when dem finish.
The NSCDC reaffirm say protecting lives and maintaining professional standards remain dia priority. E also warn say the corps no go protect any officer wey put public safety for danger or break operational rules.
Earlier, FCT Police Command talk say dem arrest the officer after dem receive distress call about one armed man wey dey shoot gun into the air for Kubwa Market.
The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, explain say the officer allegedly go the market with pistol after e hear say some traders don beat e wife.
Police officers from Kubwa Division rush go the scene, collect the gun from am and arrest am.
