Dem talk say the gbege don affect how the missions dey work well, and e don cause delay to pay salary for people wey dem employ for there, allowance for officers wey come from Naija, and rent wey dem suppose pay landlords and service people.
Dem talk say, “We sabi say money wahala don make e hard to run the missions well. We never fit pay salary for local staff, settle bills for service providers, pay rent, and give foreign service allowance to our officers.”
Dem still talk say the matter na reflection of the bigger economic kasala wey dey affect the country. Dem say the missions don suffer because money wey dem dey get no reach over the years.
Dem assure Nigerians wey dey house and abroad say President Bola Tinubu dey put the welfare of foreign service officers and dia families for top priority.
Dem talk say government don start to do better work to solve the money wahala for the missions. Dem don release special intervention money to help the missions wey dey suffer. Over 80% of the money don already go out, and dem first settle service providers, local staff salary, and officers wey get unpaid claims.
To make sure say everything clear, dem set up committee wey go check the debt wey missions get and make sure say payment dey legit and fair.
Dem still dey work with Accountant-General office to recover the money wey short for 2024 budget, wey dem say na because of exchange rate wahala wey follow monetary policy change.
Dem talk say President Tinubu don approve make dem pay the shortfall, and first batch of payment don already reach some missions.
Second batch of money don get approval too, and dem dey work with Ministry of Finance and Central Bank to release money for staff and other expenses this week.
Dem talk say dem dey plan better financial arrangement for the missions, wey go follow government fiscal reform wey go help manage money well and improve how things dey run.
Dem conclude say all these efforts na part of the big financial reform wey Federal Government dey do to make sure say money dey go where e suppose go and governance dey better.
The ministry don thank diplomatic staff, host governments, and service providers for the patience and support wey dem show. Dem talk say dem believe say the wahala no go last and e go soon clear.
