Nigeria don bans homosexuality, crossdressing for military

Nigerian Armed Forces don introduce strict regulations wey ban military personnel from engaging in activities wey dem consider against the ethics of the service.

The new rules, as per the updated Harmonised Armed Forces Terms and Conditions of Service (HAFCTCS), include bans on homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, cross-dressing, and any other behavior wey dem deem inappropriate.

The directive, signed by President Bola Tinubu, also don ban body piercing, tattooing, drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and public misconduct.

Military personnel no go fit enter romantic relationships with their subordinates or their spouses, and dem no go fit join secret societies or political parties. Dem also no fit engage in private businesses or misuse government property for personal gain. Furthermore, dem no go fit accept gifts or favors from their subordinates.

Other key regulations include timely payment of financial obligations like vehicle licensing and insurance. If personnel fail to do so, it’s a serious offence, just like issuing dud cheques.

The new rules also emphasize that any action wey bring shame or discredit to the armed forces will not be tolerated, but the document no specify the kind punishment or consequences for those wey break the rules.
