Nentawe Yilwatda don emerge as di new APC National Chairman

Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda don become di new National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), as him replace Abdullahi Ganduje, wey be former Kano State governor wey step down because of health wahala.

Yilwatda, wey before contest for governorship under APC for Plateau State, na technocrat and politician wey get background for engineering, governance reform, and party politics.

Dem born am on August 8, 1968, for Dungung, Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State. He be pikin of late Rev and Mrs Toma Yilwatda.

He study Electrical/Electronic Engineering for Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and he graduate for 1992.

He later get Master’s degree for Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and PhD from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, wey focus on Digital Systems Engineering.

Yilwatda still get international training for e-governance from United Nations University wey dey Macau, China.

For di 2023 general elections, Yilwatda serve as coordinator for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign for Plateau State and him contest governorship election under APC.

After him lose di election to PDP, Yilwatda challenge di result for court but later accept Supreme Court decision wey favour PDP.

Inside APC, Yilwatda get strong alliance with former Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong.

He still maintain close political relationship with former governor Lalong and many people bin talk say dem go give am ministerial post after Lalong enter Senate.

Later on, Yilwatda come get nomination as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation before dem announce am as party’s correct chairman.
