Both the Senate and House of Representatives don approve the State of Emergency wey President Bola Tinubu declare for Rivers State. Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, talk say the Senate don use dem power wey dey section 305(2) of the constitution to approve the President’s proclamation.

Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan, report say the Upper Chamber, based on Section 11(4) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), decide say dem go set up a joint committee to monitor Rivers State legislature and also involve one select group of prominent Nigerians to help settle the fighting parties for the state.

Before this, the Lower Chamber also approve the declaration through voice vote, with two hundred and forty-three members wey show up for the meeting.
