Lagos State Government don set up Emergency Response Committee sake of di diphtheria outbreak wey happen for King’s College boarding house, Victoria Island Annex.

State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, talk yesterday say di situation dey under control and make people no panic. E assure say government go continue to put measures wey go protect residents from infectious disease outbreaks.

E explain say di first case na 12-year-old boy wey complain of sore throat and fever for school clinic on February 22. Dem later carry am go Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) where e receive treatment but unfortunately, e no survive.

Di Commissioner still talk say as di boy die, dem don begin monitor 34 people wey get close contact with am to check for symptoms.
