Lagos State Government don praise the Supreme Court ruling wey nullify the National Lottery Act and confirm the constitutional power of State Governments to regulate lotteries and gaming within their states.

Statement from the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, describe the judgment as a historic win for the rule of law, federalism, and the constitutional rights of states.

Omotoso talk say the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority still be the only body wey go regulate lotteries and gaming for Lagos State. He add say the authority go continue to ensure say all gaming activities dey carried out transparently, responsibly, and in line with international best practices.

The Information Commissioner also urge all illegal and unlicensed lottery and gaming operators to quickly meet the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority for regularisation or face prosecution.
