The Lagos State Government don ban the use and distribution of single-use plastics, wey include Styrofoam, for the state.

Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, talk this one for one statement wey dem release yesterday. E talk say dem decide to ban am because of the environmental wahala wey single-use plastics, especially Styrofoam, dey cause. E add say the state drainage channels dey always block because of the careless way wey people distribute and use these materials.

Wahab talk say the Kick Against Indiscipline agency and the Waste Management Authority go need to take action against all Styrofoam manufacturers and distributors for the state to make sure say people no dey use am again.

E come advise residents say make dem dey use reusable water bottles and food containers for their food and drinks, so that e go fit reduce the bad effects wey dey come from the way people dey dump single-use plastics, like flooding, climate change, and diseases like cholera.
