Organised Labour, wey include di Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and di Trade Union Congress (TUC), don reject di new offer of ₦57,000 minimum wage wey Federal Government propose again.

Dis na di third proposal wey dem reject for about one week as negotiations continue.

Initially, last week, Federal Government bin propose ₦48,000, wey NLC and TUC reject quick-quick. After dis one, government increase di offer to ₦54,000 on Tuesday, but NLC and TUC still say no.

During di talks wey resume on Wednesday, government increase di offer again to ₦57,000. But even as di Organised Labour reduce dia initial demand from ₦615,000 to ₦497,000, dem still no gree accept di government proposal.

One member of di Tripartite Committee, wey dey negotiate di new minimum wage, reveal say Federal Government and di Organised Private Sector propose di ₦57,000 monthly minimum wage to see if dem fit agree. But despite dis, Organised Labour still dey maintain dia position, say di government offers no reach.

Organised Labour bin walk comot from di negotiations before, accuse government and private sector say dem no ready to agree on di new minimum wage.

With di negotiation deadline set for May 31, di committee dey under pressure to reach agreement quick-quick.
