Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, don say the commission go create joint committee with the Nigerian Air Force to solve logistics problems wey dey affect elections for the country.
Amupitan talk this one for Abuja when he receive the Chief of the Air Staff, Kelvin Aneke, during courtesy visit to INEC headquarters.
According to am, the committee go help strengthen cooperation between both institutions as Nigeria dey prepare for future elections, especially the 2027 general election.The INEC chairman also reveal say the commission go soon conduct governorship elections for Ekiti State in June and Osun State on August 15 this year.
He describe the two elections as very important tests as the country dey move closer to the 2027 general elections.
Responding, Air Marshal Aneke assure INEC say the Nigerian Air Force ready to continue supporting election operations across the country.
He explain say the Air Force already dey prepare its aircraft and other logistics equipment to make sure say everything ready ahead of future elections.
Aneke also talk say the Air Force fit deploy intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms, including drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, to monitor election activities and help ensure smooth conduct of the polls.
